Real Life Connections

The 2nd Line Infantry is based off of the 2nd Connecticut Regiment, which served as an active regiment in the American Revolutionary war through September 16th, 1776, to November 15th, 1783, and was formally disbanded in 1793.

WHAT WAS IT?
The 2nd Connecticut Regiment was a standard Line Infantry Regiment with a total of almost 800 soldiers.

WHERE WAS IS FROM?
The 2nd Connecticut Regiment contained a variety of soldiers from Connecticut, specifically from Hartford County, Windham County, and Fairfield County.

WHAT WAS IT APART OF?
The Regiment was originally apart of the 1st Connecticut Brigade, until June 17th, 1777 where is stayed for awhile, up to May 1st, 1779 where the 2nd Connecticut was put into the Highlanders department, and then was subsequently reassigned to the main Continental Army. From there it was then put back into the Highlanders department in 1780, and was merged with the 9th Connecticut regiment into the 3rd Connecticut regiment, where the story of the 2nd Connecticut Regiment ends.
